A Catechist is a person of faith who leads others in understanding the faith teaching according to the official teachings of the Catholic Church, as well as, The Catechism of the Catholic Church. In addition, the Catechist must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church.
The main goal of a Catechist is to model God's love to others. Therefore, a Catechist must have a strong love for God and for children.
We offer training classes for all Catechists to give them the opportunity to strengthen their understanding of the faith and to help them develop lesson plans to use to teach in a classsroom.
Ongoing support is provided by the Director of Religious Education (DRE). The DRE and Assistant are always present when classes are in session and ready to help at anytime.
Please contact us if you are interested or feel called to this beautiful ministry of sharing your faith with the youth of our parish.
