Join the St. Francis Senior Luncheon Team!

St. Francis, along with other town churches and organizations provides a luncheon each year for Weston Seniors at Norfield Church Hall. St. Francis is the designated “Easter Lunch” team and serves their luncheon the first week of April on a Wednesday. Our team provides rolls, salad, a main course (this year it is Easter Ham) along with sides and desserts. Participants are reimbursed through the Senior Center for the cost of ingredients. This year we serve on Wednesday, April 5th; next year we will serve on Wednesday, April 4th. Time commitment is limited to a few hours. All are welcome to join.

II.      Changing Lives….Once Student at a Time

Could it be you?

Shepherds is a Connecticut non-profit that provides tuition support and adult mentors to underserved, at-risk New Haven area high school students, is looking for adult mentors and/or financial sponsors for young men & women entering local college-preparatory high schools – Kolbe Cathedral in Bridgeport and Notre Dame High School in West Haven this September for the 2017-2018 school year.

Mentors make a monthly commitment of time and energy to an individual student and receive professional training and extensive staff support throughout their four-year commitment. Sponsors make a financial commitment and receive the reward of knowing they are making a sound investment in the life of an inner-city young person.

Our goal is to help these students achieve their potential through a high quality, college preparatory curriculum, go on to higher education, and eventually become valuable and productive members of society. Immediately our goal is to get these students launched smoothly in September and headed toward the bright future they deserve. Your help is needed!

If you are open to making a valuable impact on a young person’s life and reaping the personal rewards that come with it, please contact Dan McAuliffe, Shepherds’ Executive Director, by April 15th. You can reach Dan by email dmcauliffe@shepherdsmentors.org or call him at 203-367-4273.
