Bedtime Buddy Bag Deadline – Outreach Information

Date: March 28, 2018
Time: 12:00 pm

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest” Matthew: 11:28

I love this verse. It gives me so much comfort. When I am weary….. burdened by the bumps in life….. less than my best…. God turns toward me, not away. This gives me the encouragement I need in those trying times. Our community outreach as a parish is truly the manifestation of this verse. Your amazing work to touch the lives of those in need, serves as an example of God’s love and encouragement. As we begin our Lenten season, I am asking you to serve once again and be a source of rest, love and comfort.

I will be collecting “Bedtime Buddy Bags” now through March 18th and they can be dropped off in the back of the church anytime.  Buddy bags are given as a comfort to children who are homeless or in shelters.  Each bag has a stuffed animal, bedtime story book, toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth and bar of soap.

Here’s how to help:

1) Create a bag/ bags. The stuffed animal and book can be gently used or new. Please use a sturdy, reusable bag (Home Goods or TJ Maxx sells cute, reusable bags for $1) or decorative gift bag (no plastic grocery bags)

2) Donate part of a bag.

  • New or Gently used stuffed animal or bedtime story books
  • New child’s toothbrush/ paste. New washcloth/ bars of soap.

3) Write a check to St Francis. Note “Bedtime Buddy Bag” in the memo. You can drop it in the Sunday Collection or mail to St Francis at 35 Norfield Rd.

Thank you for your generosity!!
